Shah Rukh Khan Banned For 5 Years

Shah Rukh Khan Banned For 5 Years

Shah Rukh Khan
A drunk Shah Rukh Khan was handed a 5 year ban from Wankhede stadium when he misbehaved after a club he co-owned Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won there match.

Shah Rukh Khan a popular bollywood superstar co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders landed himself into trouble when he had a brawl with security officials when he was denied entry into the play area along with about 40 children after his side had won the game.

Drunk Shah Rukh Khan tried to force his way in and when he was denied entry he used foul and abusive languages on the security officials, although they tried to pacify him, but he seemed to control himself. Although he claimed that his reaction came after the children were manhandled in a press conference he later granted. But an official said the decision to banned him from Wankhede stadium was a collective decision of The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). We have also lodge a formal complain with the police he added.

This is indeed a bold step for the MCA for taking such a decision regardless of his status and position. "If rules are violated, action will be taken. It does not depend who the individual is. It's a message to everyone whosoever he or she may be that stern action will be taken if there is any misbehaviour," MCA president Vilasrao Deshmukh said in a press conference.

Ricky Pointing Dropped From ODI Squad, Not To Feature In International One Day Cricket Match Again

Ricky Pointing was dropped from the ODI squad on monday and is not to feature in the international matches again.
Ponting, who has had a rather poor run of form in the shorter format of the game, went into the series knowing that the axe was hanging on him, but five successive failures in the tournament ended his chances of prolonging his ODI career.
National selector John Inverarity cited Ponting’s dismal form in the series - he has made just 18 runs in five innings - as the reason for his axing, and went on to suggest that the 37-year-old’s time as a limited, as he is expected to offer his resignation. However he said he would be available for test matches.
The 37-year-old is the second most prolific batsman of all time in limited overs internationals, scoring 13,704 runs in 375 matches since his debut in 1995.

"I have been dropped, which is disappointing but I accept that. My performances over the last five games haven't warranted me being there," Ponting told a media conference.

He further said, "It's a bit hard to say I've retired given I've been dropped but I don't expect to play one-day international cricket any more and I'm sure the selectors don't expect to pick me either."

Ponting said he wanted to continue playing test matches. "I've only got Test cricket left now and I want to make every post a winner," he added.

“The team will not seem the same without him, but moving on from the omission of players who have been outstanding over a long period of time is the nature of elite sport.

“Ricky’s record speaks for itself. He is one of the truly great performers in the history of Australian ODI cricket, with his reputation enhanced further by him captaining Australia to two World Cup victories.

“Ricky’s contribution goes far beyond his batting statistics and his brilliant fielding. The example he sets in every respect and his extraordinarily positive influence in the dressing room is acknowledged by all.

“He is held in the highest possible regard by his team-mates and there is no higher accolade than this.”

Australia squad: Michael Clarke (captain), Shane Watson (vice-captain), Dan Christian, Xavier Doherty, Peter Forrest, Ryan Harris, Ben Hilfenhaus, David Hussey, Mike Hussey, Brett Lee, Clint McKay, Matthew Wade, David Warner.

Shah Rukh Khan To Wear Japanese Ramp And Lady Gaga To Wear Indian Sari

Yu Yumada, a visiting Japanese designers, says he would love to see Shah Rukh Khan on Japanese ramp, while Lady Gaga wears the Indian sari.

Yamuda, who is a producer of the Tokyo Culture exhibit revealed that “Shah Rukh Khan is popular in Japan. His recent film Ra.One has inspired many Japanese robot toys. It will be fun to see him on ramp, I would dress him in typical print shirts, worn by Japanese comedians. He is a cool guy and will carry it well.”

They were also impressed with the Indian sari. “When Lady Gaga came to Japan last year she wore a kimono, but I think she would carry off a sari superbly,” says Hiroko Takahashi, designer, Hirocoledge, adding, “It’s great to see Indians taking pride in their heritage fashion. There are so many saris on the runway, unfortunately we don’t see our heritage dress kimono on the Japanese runway.” Yumada agrees, “It’s sad but we don’t see a single kimono in our fashion shows.” Takahashi adds, “I Iove the sari and have already brought two saris from Khan market.”

The age old Sari has kept its popularity throughout the centuries because of its total simplicity and practical comfort combined with the sense of luxury and sense of sexuality a woman experiences.

The Indian sari has retained its beauty over centuries. This attire has retained its innocence through its original form but it has evolved in tremendous variety. A more feminine dress has never been seen anywhere. This attire can cover the body from head to toe, making a woman look modest and coy. But just shift the pallu, wear it with a stylish blouse and it could give any Western dress a complex.

Sari is one piece of clothing which fits all….. fat or thin, short or tall!!! The traditional 6 yard sari allows for generous pleating, and draping around the body and over the shoulders almost Grecian in style. The loose end of the fabric, which is thrown over the left shoulder, is known as ‘Pallu’. The pallu usually has extensive design or embroidery woven into it. Sari is very flattering to all shapes and sizes and forgiving of the various flaws. It can ingeniously conceal the extra flab of fat, or it can accentuate the well-proportioned curve -- It is just a matter of how you drape the sari. This garment is in style for over 5000 years for the simple reason of its simplicity and practical usage.

This demure garment is a very versatile garment too. The pallu has a very multi-purpose use to it. In case of slight chill in the air, put it around the shoulder like a shawl, if it gets very cold wrap it around the head like a scarf. Pallu is very often used by women to cover their heads during religious ceremonies and to show respect to elders. Rural women always keep their heads covered with the sari's pallu in front of their elders.

For somebody who has never worn a sari, the sari may look a difficult and unmanagable attire. But women who are use to saris will swear by it. For first time users, designer have come up with a novel idea of a "ready made sari or a pre-stitched sari".

Yuvraj Singh Supporter's Prayers is Bieng Answered- Cancer Curable Says Doctor

Good news has emerged that India cricket star Yuvraj Singh's cancer is curable and is likely to be fit in the next few months. The hard-hitting tactical Indian batman who is currently undergoing chemoterapy in the US was sometimes last year diagnosed with a golf ball-sized non-malignant tumour, but was confirmed at the weekend to be cancererous growth in between his lungs.
But recent information from his doctors has revealed that his cancer is curable. This will come as a huge relief to his family, fans, supporters and well wishers who have been praying and send goodwill messages.
Recent Tests had revealed Yuvraj was suffering from a rare form of cancer called mediastinal seminoma and is curable. Dr Rohatagi said: "It is curable with the help of therapy and will not hinder Yuvraj's career in the long-term.

One of the cleanest strikers of a cricket ball, the middle-order batsman is not a regular member of India's test team but is an automatic choice in their limited-over sides.
Yuvraj was instrumental in India's 2007 World Twenty20 victory in South Africa and hit England fast bowler Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over in one match.
He was also named player of the tournament in India's successful 50-over World Cup campaign on home soil in February, March and April last year.
Yograj Singh, the cricketer's father, said his son was responding well to treatment.
Last month Yuvraj said on his Twitter account he was reading Lance Armstrong's 2000 autobiography 'It's Not About the Bike: My Journey Back to Life'.
"I'm sure it will motivate me and pull me through," the Indian said.
American cyclist Armstrong is one of sport's best-known cancer survivors.
The latest news on Yuvraj has triggered a wave of sympathy across cricket-crazy India with the government leading the messages for a speedy recovery.

Amazon To Enter India As Junglee.Com

Indications has emerged that internet shop giant amazon.com will be launched soon in India as junglee.com. It was gathered from a reliable source that arrangement has been concluded for the official launch. The company is expected to launch a market place in partnership with many giant Indian e-commerce ventures to feature their products on the Amazon India website. According to them, retailers will have to provide XML based feeds of their products to Amazon, customized to Amazon’s categorization, and on completion of the sale, they will be responsible for delivery. Each retailer will be reviewed and rated by customers.
Junglee is a word in hindi meaning wild and it’s a domain name that Amazon has held on to for a while: the company had acquired Junglee in 1998 for around $230 million (according to BusinessGyan); it was a database product, which, at the front end, had two applications – a job aggregator and a comparison shopping engine
What’s interesting here is that Amazon is going to manage the payments, and take a commission that could be around 2% to 7%, but could be higher for apparels. Amazon will manage the front end, and it is likely that there will be no cash on delivery option. However, Amazon is in talks to acquire a logistics company for efficient delivery of products when purchased. Another interesting facts is that Amazon may hire around 3300 people in Hyderabad, and invest around Rs 500 crore (around $100 million at current rates) over three years.

Norway NRI row ends, uncle to get kids' custody

New Delhi: There was finally some good news with the end of an ordeal for an Indian couple in Norway. Anurup and Sagarika Bhattacharya's two children, three-year-old Abhigyan and one-year-old Aishwarya, who were taken by the Norwegian authorities after allegations of poor treatment by parents, will now finally return to India.
The Norwegian government has agreed to return the children to their uncle Arunabhash Bhattacharya, but will take assurance from the family. The solution was arrived at after India took up the issue with Oslo at the diplomatic level.
The kids' uncle has offered to be their guardian and the parents will have unrestricted visitation rights.
Sagarika expressed her happiness about the developments and hoped that the ordeal would be over soon.
"I am extremely happy that they will give the custody to my brother-in-law. He is like a family. We are fine that a person from the family will come here and take the custody of the children. Both the children are in the same foster family now. May be we will get the children as soon as possible. Indian Embassy met the children a few weeks back. They told us that they are fine," said Sagarika.
An out of court settlement has been reached and both the governments were satisfied, but the stamp of approval will have to come from court.
"We hope the children would be able to come to India soon, as soon as we manage to get the signatures that are required. This agreement between the parents and the child support services has been an out of court settlement but it would need the formal approval of the court," said the couple's lawyer Svein Kjetil Lode Svendsen.
One of the kids had shown autistic tendencies. Therefore, Oslo has asked for and got an undertaking that the Indian Health and Child Welfare Ministry will monitor the care the two kids receive.
For the grandparents of the children and the rest of the extended family, this is the best possible solution under the circumstances. Arunabhash is getting set to leave for Norway and he will return with the kids to the relieved relatives soon.
Once the children are under their uncle's custody and come back to India, there would be no problem if the parents came back and met or stayed with their children.
External Affairs Minister SM Krishna personally intervened in this case on Monday. He told his Norwegian counterpart that the best interests of the kids would be served if they were with the extended family.
The pressure paid off, but Oslo still maintains that there were no cultural misinterpretations in this case.

India offers Pak oil pipeline

In a major peace initiative, India on Wednesday proposed to build pipelines to Pakistan if it provides long-term guarantees on buying petroleum products. India now has excess refining capacity and is exporting petrol and diesel, among other petroleum products, to various parts of the world, including Europe.
Federal Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas of Pakistan Asim Hussain being welcomed by Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Jaipal Reddy during a meeting on the TAPI pipeline project in New Delhi
“We proposed exporting petroleum products and petrol to Pakistan. They have shown interest. We will work out the details in the next few weeks,” petroleum minister S. Jaipal Reddy said after meeting Pakistan’s oil minister Asim Hussain.
He said India was exporting petroleum products to distant countries, while Pakistan was importing them. Mr Reddy said the Pakistani minister “has kindly agreed to have this proposal considered within the ministry and the government there before responding”.
Dr Hussain said groups from both countries will meet soon to sort out the issue.
India has offered to export petrol, diesel, aviation turbine fuel (ATF), polyethylene and polypro-pylene, which Pakistan currently imports.
It was pointed out to Pakistan that it would save a lot in transport costs as several Indian refineries are close to the Pakistan border.
A India-Pakistan joint working group on petroleum and petrochemical products has been constituted recently to go into the specific details of facilitating trade in this sector. Both ministers agreed to advise their respective officials to hold the first meeting of the JWG at the earliest.
India currently has the refining capacity to process 193 million tonnes of crude oil annually, which is expected to rise to 232 million tonnes by 2012. India exports 59 million tonnes of petroleum products worth $43 billion annually.
Pakistan bans the import of petrol from India.
Pakistan had allowed diesel imports from India in 2009, but no Indian supplies were sent in the face of preferential prices offered by Pakistan’s Gulf allies.
On transit fees for the Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and India (Tapi) gas pipeline, both sides agreed that negotiations would be held in a transparent manner, keeping in mind the overall economics of the project and in accordance with international practices.

India, Sri Lanka take steps to end fishermen's travails

India is for a formal pact, but Sri Lanka wants informal solutions to start with
India and Sri Lanka have intensified efforts to resolve the issue of fishermen from both countries plying their trade in a “limited pool of water,” according to officials briefing journalists on External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna's recent visit to the island nation.
After a meeting of the Joint Working Group on Fisheries, when all problems were discussed, the two sides are looking at an interaction between fishermen, wherein some solutions are likely to be aired.
India was keen on a formal document with legal implications. Sri Lanka did not express its reluctance in as many words, but favoured informal solutions to start with.

Sustainable aquaculture

India presented a non-paper and proposed a variety of options for joint management of resources, setting up of bio-parks and promotion of sustainable aquaculture. “Our endeavour is to reach an agreement that addresses livelihood issues on both sides, and fishing takes place in a safe and secure manner,” informed sources said.

Asymmetry

India recognises that there is asymmetry on its side in terms of the number of boats and their size. “We felt that is natural because of the country's size. But this issue has been compounded by the Sri Lankan government's very stringent measures on fishing till the end of the conflict in July/August 2009. They are now getting back into the waters, and there is bound to be some situation in which there are competing claims for very limited resources,” the sources said.
Besides the Centre, the Tamil Nadu government has some measures in mind. These include creating harbours in the northern part of the State for mechanised boats to go straight to the Indian Ocean, bypassing areas that have limited resources. Tamil Nadu is also trying to phase out bottom trawlers by denying refinance or not renewing the licences.
The sources said the Sri Lankan government was very helpful when a cyclone hit the region late last month, leaving more than 40 Indian fishermen stranded in eight or nine Sri Lankan ports. Colombo hosted them, got their boats repaired and escorted them to the maritime boundary, where the Coast Guard took them under its wings.
The Sri Lankan government contrasts this with the treatment of their fishermen detained in the Indian States that do not have a joint interrogation team. On Andaman & Nicobar Islands, for instance, six Sri Lankan fishermen have been detained for two years with no end in sight to their travails, the sources said.
